After reading some of the reviews I'm not sure what people expected from this movie! It's a fun retro-throwback action film with lots of gore, synth music, and sexy ladies. I'm not sure what else you could want from a movie in this genre but in my opinion this movie delivers on what it advertises.

This new Hellboy reboot movie has a lot of negative reviews, but I enjoyed myself.
There's a lot of humor and action scenes in this. Gorehounds will be pleased to know that the R-rating is well deserved. They really run with the supernatural/fantasy elements and there's some pretty memorable visual moments.
I've heard a lot of complaints that there is too much going and the movie is choppy. I admit they crunch a lot of stuff in but in fairness, that's not too different than the Hellboy comics. Creator Mike Mignola often fits a lot of separate elements into a single story. (Let's be honest, he's more of an idea guy, than a planning guy.) Personally, I liked that this had a lot of things going on. Say what you will about this movie, but it never gets slow. Even though it's a kinda complex plot, I never got lost or confused about what was happening.
Rumor has it that there was a lot of behind-the-scenes conflict between director Neil Marshall (The Descent; Dog Soldiers) and the film's many producers. And, I can sort of see it. The beginning exposition feels like it was abridged and had a narration slapped on. It felt like in order to make things funnier, there was a lot of recorded dialogue added after filming which was a wee bit noticeable. (Though in fairness to the added dialogue, I may have been looking for it since I heard about the editing issues ahead of time. I'm also aware that now I've told you about it that you could probably be looking for it too and you may not have noticed otherwise. Sorry.) They finally manage to include a Hellboy character that a lot of fans of the comics will be happy about, but he or she is so wedged in that it doesn't feel quite natural.
I loved some of the creature designs in this. The movie includes some pretty creepy monsters. Unfortunately, this is a Millennium film and the budget isn't as big as a lot of the other comic book blockbusters out there. The computer graphics for the monsters are subpar. (A quick look at Hellboy is cut mercifully quick as it is so bad.) The quality just doesn't match the earlier Hellboy films, which are several years old.
David Harbour does a good job as the titular Hellboy. Admittedly, Ron Perlman does a better job of the human, emotional side of Hellboy, but Harbour is definitely funnier. Actually, the full cast is good. Comics fans will be disappointed that main players Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman aren't in this at all. But I credit the creators for trying to separate this from the original films. Hellboy's new partners in crime Alice Monaghan (Sasha Lane) and Major Ben Daimio (Daniel Dae KIm) are pretty likable. (Though I admit that Alice doesn't have much of a story arc and reason to hang around other than to repay a debt to Hellboy.) Ian McShane's Professor Broom, Hellboy's tough love foster father, is a real change of pace from the scholarly figure from the comics and other films, but it's fun to see the actor chew the scenery.
The best thing I can compare this to is the Constantine movie with Keanu Reeves. It's not a perfect product in the grand scheme, but there's enough fun individual parts that I was pleased. (FYI, be sure to stay through the credits.)

The Justice League faces a powerful new threat — the Fatal Five! Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman seek answers as the time-traveling trio of Mano, Persuader and Tharok terrorize Metropolis in search of budding Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz. With her unwilling help, they aim to free remaining Fatal Five members Emerald Empress and Validus to carry out their sinister plan. But the Justice League has also discovered an ally from another time in the peculiar Star Boy — brimming with volatile power, could he be the key to thwarting the Fatal Five? An epic battle against ultimate evil awaits!
Known settings and characters meet some of the newer qualities found in characters that were expressed in the more recent DC Universe movies.
Though, overall way less graphic and violent than the things of recent times.
It is enjoyable to see a new green lantern getting some screen time as well, the character is quite likeable.
The villains are a tad bit one-dimensional (aren't they always?) but the writing is good and the overall vibe one is left with after watching it is a positive one, so this movie earned its 8 stars from me.

High school senior Lily and her group of friends live in a haze of texts, posts, selfies and chats just like the rest of the world. So, when an anonymous hacker starts posting details from the private lives of everyone in their small town, the result is absolute madness leaving Lily and her friends questioning whether they'll live through the night.
Assassination Nation is a "modern" take on the Salem witch trials, which, coincidentally takes place in Salem. Once a hacker starts exposing deep secrets from the townspeople ranging from the mayor to the principal to the students, all hell breaks loose. And when main protagonist Lily along with her 3 girlfriends are blamed, they find themselves fighting for their lives. I loved every minute of this film, the cinematography was not only stylish but necessary, avoiding borderline pretentious arthouse that leaves you feeling robbed. If you are going in for the violence, you won't get much of til half way into the film, but when it does come, it is a very satisfying and adrenaline filled rush. That's not to say I didn't feel exhausted from this film by the time we reached the last 5 minutes, but only because this story took quite a bit to spiral out of control that by the time sh*t hits the fan, you are left feeling quite full with what you are fed in the final act. I say this because if you are expecting those 4 girls to absolutely obliterate a whole mob of angry people, you will be disappointed to hear that the film ends before we see that carnage, but what you do see is fulfilling enough to forgive that cliche copout, which is why I take one star away from an otherwise perfect film. If you are the type of person that thinks 4 girls talking about male genitals and whose nude pictures they have on their phones, you might be a bit annoyed with our leads. But as for me, I loved every second they were on screen. Not to mention the polarizing use of modern trap music and the booming bass constantly playing in-between scenes and in the background that compliments the 4 girls aesthetics, whether they are simply walking down the school halls or doing something mischievous that will ultimately have consequences by the time things start going south. I ask you why you are on iMDB because, it's not that this movie is some "snowflake" SJW horror film trying to bombard you with the words "trigger warning" but that it is very political and seeing how the Purge movies are received, I highly doubt this movie won't take a beating from a few bothered people. Enjoy this movie for the hilarious and disturbing outcome of what happens when a paranoid town resorts to gory violence. You may walk away feeling pleasantly surprised
What if a web cast, LIVE on Halloween, turned out to be a real life survival game? What if the people hunting them are a rogue military? What if all eyes from the around the world are tuned in, and with a short window of time, officials need to find out where this broadcast is taking place? With all of technology taken away from the the young adults to slow down any rescue team from finding them, they find themselves with no weapons to defend themselves. Can they be found in time, as the world watches on?
Alex Gibney does a disservice to his previous (and infinitely better) film, "Enron, et al." THIS film ("Taxi") had essentially no point. What -- torture is bad? Duh. Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld are bad? No kidding. A two-hour guilt-trip that I could do without. Go see "Sicko" instead.

Yet another big blockbuster action movie based on a comic is the base of Hellboy. A few people had mentioned this movie before it came out and reassured me it would be good, but it was the opposite. If you enjoy the comic books or are a fan of action and science fiction, you might even enjoy this movie. If you're not stay away. Could have been better. Decent acting, Good effects but very lousy story. Nevertheless, they were still entertaining !!

I liked the movie. Wasn't nearly as cheesy as the first one but also had some weird plot twists. I felt like they could have done a lot more with it if they had a better script. They also ruined Charlies character who was so much fun in the first film. Still entertaining and not many slow bits. Just could have been a lot more.

This film made me laugh really hard and that because i stopped and made jokes with my boyfriend. It had a lot of "Come on" moments. This film is just not true. First of all you can not make that jump. Even if you'd make it, you would have broken arms from the landing.
The bulding was hot enough that planes could not fly near it, still The Rock manages to stay with bare hands.
And the final scene, they would have died. The smoke that puts out the fire, kills us.
But 7 because it was super. It had some really cool effects. If i had seen this movie on 3D it would have been perfect.

Unfolding the life of a taxi driver that uses his services as a front for extortion rackets and other criminal activities. When his hot-headed younger brother's impulsive behaviour lead the cops and triad to their doorstep. As the eldest, he stops at nothing to protect them all.
Grab and Uber platforms have both been a part and parcel in everyone's lives in the hectic world we live in today. As much as they are of utmost importance to the public, an insidious agenda from the drivers may be upon us.
The director (Zahir Omar) comes forefront with his debut film that serves as a gritty neo-noir which is a rare subject from Malaysia's film industry.
This crime thriller with a fresh and critical perspective is set in a half-cooked fictional world that stays true to rough reality in the midst city of Kuala Lumpur but also wanders off to uncharted territory to define the ridiculously gory premise with undisputed splatters of Tarantino-esque style and tone to the heavyweight drama.
It kicks off by introducing a not-so poverty stricken family who are taxi drivers but use their service to the group's own advantage by committing an extortion racket. The partner-in-crime group is led by the Boss (Sunny Pang), his younger brother Sailo (Fabian Loo) and his best pal named Gwailo (Jack Tan), and its newest member who also happens to be an old friend of Boss, Ah Soon (Eric Chen).
Things take a dark... or a darker turn when Gwailo does a dirty job behind Boss' back that puts his entire gang into jeopardy after revealing his impulsive behaviour to a bunch of do-not-mess people.
The family is then forced to play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with Kamal (Bront Palarae), a cop who is praised of always getting his job done but with dirty methods and Jared (Frederick Lee), an eerie psychotic crime boss who might be applauded for his talented acting skill and could become the Malaysian Joker or replace Joaquin Phoenix after all.
As the world unfolds, it seems that the director has made a promise to himself to show the audience of the corruption that happens in today's world. He loads the grimmy world with scarred-face hooligans, cops with erosion of values, a revengeful mistress and puffs of cigarette smokes.
With the explicit showcase, fortunately the director handles them with care to steer clear of the potholes designed by the strict Film Censorship Board of Malaysia.
It is also noteworthy that the director manages to invent characters with three-dimensional structure that successfully makes the audience feels vulnerable to both ends of emotional spectrum. What makes this more interesting and exciting is that he weaves and interlocks each of the character's story with one another and untangles them smoothly as soon as the credits roll.
The film serves a solid story by throwing in various genres to the recipe. At one point, it feels like a dark thriller comedy but another moment is abruptly altered to be a crime solving puzzles which then turns to a melodrama genre.
Talking about the action line-ups, the film offers plenty of adrenaline rush gobsmacking moments which includes perfectly choreographed chase sequences and contains a few bloody violence scenes that will unexpectedly make the audience look away and at the edge of their seats.
The score feels wonderfully unique and authentic in its own way as it syncs along with the scenes showed on the screen.
The climax feels a bit rushed and gets a little crowded with the interconnected characters.
As a result, it never explains the 'Who?' question in the final minute of the film as the director already stated that it is up to the audience's expectations to answer the question. Albeit the film prevents from spoon feeding the audience, however the daring quality and the stakes that it brings to the table for the conclusion is overwhelming. You will never be disappointed to the cliffhanger as everyone will have their own suspect by the end.
Fly By Night is a film that never afraid to reveal its true raw form of identity. Similar to One Two Jaga, it is packed with metaphors and hidden gems and it is meant to be watched over and over again. This Oscar-worthy film is a cinematic achievement for Malaysia's film industry that puts a higher benchmark to upcoming films in stepping up their games as well.

How to review this?????mmmmmmmmmmmm, well its full of drugs, mostly homemade stuff, with a cartoon sized story and some ample and fruity characters.. its all about a khush farmer in the midle of nowhere united states, and all his friends and followers, including the sheriff +deputy and the bartending mayor. their opposition is a burnout federal agent and his rather sour staff of bosses and helpers. its a build up to the final battle between good and evil, including sex, nudity and hippie ayo muffin puffin weed killin atmosphere.how it ends ....?
at first glance i wanted to terminate the try because mthe sound and socalled picture quality were awful, and the editing are extremely fast and shifting, like an angels farting dust on overdrive. but somehow i was lured into the business, and started to enjoy the characters so much that i couldnt stop it. the never mind , live high and live free feeling really smat over on me , i even had a few laughs and thats not bad considering the grumpy old man i am.
just mentioning the score, that is well chosen and well dictated into the film, and the actors that are merely unknown to me ,does a pretty good job on the set. there are no sense of seriousity in this flick, so if you are a darn normal person who believes in the numberless amounts of amendments, then skip this.
but its recommended from me, though with a low score

I went into this movie sort of expecting it to be a a bit of a 21st century version of 'Flipper'. It isn't. Instead it's a cheaply made, averagely acted, predictably plotted caper movie. There is surprisingly little animal action or underwater footage. There is a strong environmental message, however. It also features one of the most irritating child actors I have encountered in a long time. That's my adult perspective though. Preteen kids will lap this movie up and that's the demographic it's aimed at. At just under 90 minutes in length, that age group won't be bored with this movie. Mine weren't anyway. From that perspective then, this movie is a success and I note that a sequel seems to be in the works, so the producers have obviously done something right.

After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.
I have to say, my first reaction walking out of the cinema was that it was great. Probably an 8/10. You know there's so much fan service in this movie and I particularly loved the "I can do this all day" CA line from one CA to another. It was almost Toy Story 2, enlightened Buzz to naive Buzz banter.
I loved Clever Hulk, found Thor hilarious, though a bit annoying at times, and loved the references to past movies. Cap swinging Mjollnir around was beautiful.
The deaths in this movie were also pretty surprising but I agree with some of the more balanced reviews in here that it was bizarre that so much time was spent on Hawkeye - does anyone really care about him? Not really.
Killing off Black Widow was a surprising touch, but I, like many others, probably felt more of an emotional reaction to Banner's relationship with her and not Hawkeye (because no one actually cares about him). Renner, as an actor, just doesn't cut it much, unfortunately.
The real problem with End Game, is the time travel. I don't know why any movie franchise would ever want to deal with time travel knowing how much grief it creates. Sure they try to explain everything with their hilarious conversation about movies, but in the end, there are just too many questions left at the end of the day, particularly when they already try to explain it through the Ancient One.
The most glaring one of these is, if they change the past, they're changing another timeline, so how selfish is that? If Tony Stark snaps his fingers and kills Thanos, what happens to that original timeline? If he sent Thanos and everyone back, how does he magically know not to send Gamora back who is now stuck in 2023 - and so does that mean 2014 Quill never meets Gamora?!? What the hell? Essentially erasing the entire 2014 GOTG franchise in that universe. If Captain America goes back in time, he will inevitably change history in some way or another, so that is another timeline, right? So while everyone else's timeline is meant to stay the same in the present (as said by Stark) how does Cap end up sitting by the same lake as everyone else.
There are also way too many questions about new timelines created - but perhaps that is intentional, such as the Loki TV show. But this is why I hate it when they bring time travel into any movie and just add stuff to it to make it wrap up nicely in their own universe.
Also, don't get me started on how impossibly strong Thanos suddenly is without an infinity gauntlet? Even WITH the IG he couldn't stop Thor's Stormbringer, but now without the IG can easily defeat Thor with Stormbringer AND Mjollnir, Iron Man and Cap??? How convenient.
I also think Marvel made a serious mistake creating Captain Marvel, how is she brought in as a convenient deus ex machina and yet doesn't really stick around to show off all her abilities, and she can't even defeat Thanos single handedly? Pfft. That was rich. She can barely prevent Thanos from snapping his fingers, yet in Infinity War, Cap was able to actually hold off his hand too? Bizarre parallels.
So okay, sure, it was enjoyable to watch, but I just feel that there are too many plot inconsistencies creeping into End Game. There should have been better ways to get the infinity stones back, and I think someone stupid just thought time travel was the best way to do it,.
Angelino is just one of thousands of deadbeats living in Dark Meat City. But an otherwise unremarkable scooter accident caused by a beautiful, mysterious stranger is about to transform his life... into a waking nightmare! He starts seeing monstrous forms prowling around all over the city... Is Angelino losing his mind, or could an alien invasion really be happening this quietly...?
The movie has great character development and good acting (however this is being said when it concerns animation^^). The story itself might not be the best, but the way it progresses is thrilling. They movie is also quite funny in a kind of parody at some points, but knows when it has to be serious again.
